چکیده

Many WUWT readers will remember that last year we presented evidence of what we thought was a "solar imprint" in globally averaged temperature trends. Not surprisingly, given the strong interest and passion in the subject of climate change and global warming, our results were greeting with both praise and scorn. Some problems were pointed out in our original assessment, and other possible interpretations of the data were suggested. Some WUWT readers have wondered whether we would ever follow up on this.

The influence of Atlantic-Eurasian teleconnection patterns on temperature regimes in South Caspian Sea coastal areas: a study of Golestan Province, North Iran

The main objective of this study was to reveal the impact of nine climate indices on temperature changes and climate oscillations in Golestan Province along the southern coast of the Caspian Sea. Climate indices data from across the Atlantic-Eurasian sector were collected from the NCEP/NCAR, the Climate Prediction Centre (CPC) and the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) over a period of 40 years (1971...

Surface air temperature variability reconstructed with tree rings for the Gulf of Alaska over the past 1200 years

A 1200-year-long tree-ring width record from living and subfossil mountain hemlock wood is used to reconstruct February through August temperatures for the Gulf of Alaska, providing a record of past climate variability for the Northeast Pacific sector that captures interannual to centennial timescales. The moderate elevation at the tree-ring sites has allowed these trees to retain their tempera...

North Pacific Decadal Climate Variability since 1661

Climate in the North Pacific and North American sectors has experienced interdecadal shifts during the twentieth century. A network of recently developed tree-ring chronologies for Southern and Baja California extends the instrumental record and reveals decadal-scale variability back to 1661. The Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO) is closely matched by the dominant mode of tree-ring variability ...

Bidecadal and Pentadecadal Climatic Oscillations over the North Pacific and North America

Climatic variations on bidecadal (about 20 years) and pentadecadal (50–70 years) timescales are analyzed in terms of their seasonal and regional dependencies in the North Pacific and North American sector. The both bidecadal and pentadecadal variations are evident in SLP fields associated with the strength changes of the Aleutian low. The bidecadal variability is evident only in winter both in ...
